The Doha Islamic Finance Conference Award – 2026 Edition has officially concluded its application period and has now entered the next important stage of the Award process: the review and evaluation of submitted applications.
Throughout the application period, the Award welcomed submissions from researchers, authors and innovators seeking to contribute to the continued advancement of Islamic economics and finance.
The Award extends its sincere appreciation to every applicant for their interest, participation and trust, and wishes all participants success as the evaluation process moves forward.
Applications Are Closed — Review and Evaluation Are Now Underway
Following the official application deadline, submissions for the 2026 edition are now closed.
The Award has begun the review, assessment and evaluation stage, during which eligible submissions will be considered in accordance with the established criteria and procedures relevant to each Award category.
The purpose of this stage is to identify contributions that demonstrate meaningful value to the field, whether through rigorous academic research, distinguished scholarly authorship or innovative ideas and solutions capable of advancing Islamic economics and finance.
Three Categories Supporting Knowledge and Innovation
The 2026 Award consists of three principal categories: Innovation in Islamic Economics, Best Book in Islamic Economics, and Research Excellence in Islamic Economics.
Together, these categories reflect the Award’s broader objective of supporting different forms of meaningful contribution.
Research Excellence recognizes scholarly work addressing contemporary issues through sound academic methodology. The Best Book category celebrates published works that enrich the literature of Islamic economics and finance. The Innovation category recognizes ideas, solutions and initiatives that can contribute to the future development of the Islamic finance industry.
Through these categories, the Award seeks to connect research, knowledge, authorship and innovation within one platform dedicated to advancing the field.
What Happens During the Review Process?
During the current stage, submitted applications will be reviewed to ensure that they meet the relevant requirements before proceeding through the Award’s evaluation and judging process.
Each submission will be considered according to the nature and objectives of its category, with attention given to factors such as quality, originality, scholarly or practical contribution, and relevance to Islamic economics and finance.
The review process is intended to provide careful and structured consideration of all eligible applications and to identify submissions that demonstrate outstanding contribution and merit.
When Will Applicants Receive the Results?
Following completion of the review and evaluation process, applicants will be informed of the results of their submissions.
The Award winners will subsequently be officially announced and recognized at the next Doha Islamic Finance Conference in 2027.
The Conference will provide an important platform to celebrate the winning contributions and recognize the researchers, authors and innovators whose work contributes to the continued advancement of Islamic economics and finance.
The Award Moves Into Its Next Stage
The 2026 edition has now successfully completed its application stage and moved into the review and evaluation phase.
Once this process has been completed, applicants will receive their results, followed by the official recognition of the winners at the Doha Islamic Finance Conference 2027.
